Tehran: The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) representative in Iran, Farrukh Toirov, has expressed readiness to explore areas of collaboration, including designing training courses and specialized capacity-building programs with the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute. Speaking on the sidelines of his visit to the institute, Toirov emphasized the importance of providing a list of key educational and research topics from the Razi Institute to effectively plan and expand collaborations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Toirov highlighted the unique capacity of the Razi Institute in producing vaccines and biological products. He noted that the level of knowledge and technological capability at the Razi Institute in vaccine production is exceptional and is seen in only a few countries globally. The institute is one of the few in the world that produces both veterinary and human vaccines, offering unparalleled advantages in the region and beyond.

Meanwhile, Ali Eshaqi, Head of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, pointed out the institute’s extensive capabilities in vaccine and biological product production, along with its reference laboratories. Eshaqi called for the development of international cooperation to enhance health and food security. The Razi Institute primarily focuses on producing biological products, with a significant portion dedicated to veterinary medicine.

Eshaqi further mentioned that the Razi Institute has 15 national and international reference laboratories for disease diagnosis, which provide an excellent opportunity for international collaboration. The institute’s domestic technical knowledge and vaccine production experience position it as a leader in the field.
