Tehran: The farewell ceremony for 100 unidentified martyrs, who lost their lives during the eight-year Sacred Defense, took place at the Holy Defense Museum in Tehran, Iran’s capital. These individuals, often referred to as anonymous or unknown martyrs, were commemorated for their sacrifices in the Iraqi-imposed war against Iran from 1980 to 1988.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the event was held on November 23, 2025, and honored the memory of those whose identities remain unknown but whose contributions to the nation’s defense are deeply appreciated. The ceremony served as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made during the conflict and highlighted the ongoing efforts to honor those who served and protected the country.
