Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei says negotiations for a final agreement can begin only after the provisions of paragraphs 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 of the MoU between Iran and the United States are put into effect and continuously upheld.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in response to a question regarding the next stage of negotiations for drafting a final agreement, Baqaei told media that the necessary consultations are underway through mediators for this purpose, and once the required conditions for the start of negotiations are met, it will be announced publicly.
Regarding the meeting in Switzerland previously scheduled for Friday, he clarified that it was intended primarily for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to end the imposed war, with discussions regarding final negotiations taking place on the sidelines.
'With the digital signing having already taken place on the morning of June 18, the meeting is no longer a pressing concern,' Baqaei said, adding that arrangements for a meeting in the near future are underway.
