Tehran: Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized on Monday that the nation's call for retribution against the assassins of the martyred Leader is a sovereign duty that will be fulfilled through strategic rationality. This assertion was made amid the historic funeral procession held for Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref shared on his social media platform that the demand for justice against the terrorist killers, which was prominently raised during the funeral, aligns with international self-defense principles. He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to securing the definitive punishment of those responsible for the crime through a strategic approach.

The funeral and farewell processions saw millions of Iranians in attendance, mourning the loss of Ayatollah Khamenei. The demand for justice and retribution against those responsible for his killing was a central theme among the mourners. The revered Leader attained martyrdom on February 28, following attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime, marking the onset of their joint aggression against Iran.
