Mashhad: The flag atop the illuminated dome and the covering of the sacred shrine of Imam Reza were ceremonially replaced on Wednesday, on the Imam's birth anniversary. The event took place in the presence of the custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, as the shrine's traditional Naqqareh drums were sounded in the morning.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the ceremony was held to honor the birth anniversary of Imam Reza, a significant figure in the Islamic tradition. The replacement of the flag and shrine covering is a customary practice, symbolizing respect and reverence for the Imam's legacy. The event drew attention as it was conducted with the accompaniment of the Naqqareh drums, which added to the solemnity of the occasion.
