Khuzestan: Some 630,000 tons of goods worth $199 million were exported during the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 21, 2026), a provincial official says.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Behrouz Qarehbeigi, the Supervisor of Customs of Khuzestan in southwest Iran, reported that the imports to the province during the same period amounted to 874,000 tons, valued at $360 million. He highlighted that the revenue for the first month showed significant growth, reaching 68,896 billion rials, which represents a 409% increase compared to the same period last year.
Qarehbeigi further elaborated that 221,000 tons of goods were exported to neighboring Iraq, one of Khuzestan's major trade partners, with the value of these exports totaling $60.783 million. The province's overall exports for the previous year were recorded at $5 billion.
The main goods exported from Khuzestan to various countries include light polyethylene, steel billets, propane, urea fertilizer, liquefied gas, pentane, iron concentrate, natural gas, steel slabs, light hydrocarbons, and agricultural products.
