Karaj: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has reacted to the construction work on the B-1 bridge in Karaj, noting, "We rebuild, but we do not forget/forgive."
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei shared a video on his X account showcasing the ongoing construction on the B-1 bridge. He emphasized the resilience of Iranian engineers as they undertake the task of rebuilding the bridge, which was heavily damaged by American forces on April 2, 2026.
The B1 bridge, the largest in West Asia, stands at 136 meters and spans 1,050 meters over the Bilaqan River in Karaj. It forms a crucial part of the Shahid Soleimani Highway and is heralded as a significant engineering accomplishment for Iran.
The bridge suffered three aerial attacks by US-Israeli forces, resulting in extensive structural damage. The attacks led to the martyrdom of 13 individuals and injuries to more than 150 others.
Initially planned to open earlier this year, the bridge now requires extensive reconstruction before it can be operational again.
