New delhi: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held separate meetings with his Malaysian and Brazilian counterparts on Thursday on the sidelines of a BRICS foreign ministers' gathering in the Indian capital, discussing bilateral ties, the war in West Asia, and international developments.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi, who arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday evening to attend the two-day BRICS meeting, met with Malaysia's Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan and Brazil's Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira. In both meetings, the top Iranian diplomat discussed key bilateral issues, the conflict in West Asia, and broader global developments.

Earlier on Thursday, Araghchi delivered a speech at the BRICS session in which he emphasized the need to expand multilateralism in the world. The BRICS foreign ministers' meeting, which runs through Friday, brings together senior diplomats from the bloc's member states.
