Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all commercial vessels provided they cooperate with Iranian naval forces, while blaming the United States for imposing an illegal blockade that he said must be lifted to resolve the current situation.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi emphasized the importance of cooperation between commercial vessels and Iranian authorities to ensure the free passage of goods through the critical waterway. He stated that while the strait remains accessible, adherence to protocols set by Iranian naval forces is essential for maintaining safety and order.
The Foreign Minister also accused the United States of creating unnecessary tensions in the region by implementing what he described as an illegal blockade. He urged the international community to pressure the U.S. to lift the blockade, which he argued is the only way to achieve a resolution to the ongoing diplomatic standoff.
