Tehran: Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has criticized the United States for its claims of offering diplomacy, describing them as disingenuous and preposterous. He condemned what he referred to as the double-standard approach adopted by Washington in diplomatic negotiations.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baghaei expressed his views on his X account on Thursday. He emphasized that the act of falsely accusing Iran of supporting terrorism does not absolve the United States of its direct participation and complicity in what he described as Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians, systematic terrorism, and continuous aggressions against many states. He pointed out the irony in the United States' actions, suggesting that the accuser often finds accusations reflecting back on themselves.
Baghaei further criticized the United States for taking pride in what he termed an unlawful attack on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities. He stated that such actions would only increase the United States' international responsibility for what he described as egregious wrongful acts of aggression, and he highlighted the deep animosity US rulers hold toward Iran.
He concluded by reiterating his stance that the United States' claim of offering diplomacy is simply disingenuous and preposterous, arguing that a country cannot bomb another amidst ongoing diplomatic negotiations and still claim to offer peace.
