Baghdad: Former Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi has described Martyr Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as 'the figure of the 21st century,' saying the late Leader possessed a comprehensive worldview grounded in faith, reliance on God, and an unwavering conviction in ultimate victory.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Abdul-Mahdi told Al-Alam TV that Ayatollah Khamenei's character and achievements place him among the rare historical leaders whose influence transcends borders and eras.
He said that the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution was 'a truly historic personality incomparable to other contemporary leaders,' and 'the results of his leadership are visible today across the region.'
The former Iraqi premier highlighted Ayatollah Khamenei's vision of Islamic unity and the concept of 'unity of fronts,' explaining that Martyr Khamenei viewed the struggles of regional nations as interconnected.
He stressed that the Israeli regime recognizes no borders in its aggression, and therefore the Axis of Resistance-shaped under Ayatollah Khamenei's guidance-adopted a unified approach to defending the rights of the Islamic Ummah against occupation, injustice, and foreign domination.
In his remarks, the late Leader's deep attention to Iraq stemmed from historical, religious, and civilizational bonds between the two nations, i.e., ties rooted in shared heritage, sacred sites, and intertwined destinies. He added, 'This connection cannot be separated.'
