Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has shot down one more advanced MQ-1 drone over the Strait of Hormuz, bringing the number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the US enemy intercepted this week to four. The IRGC announced in a report on Tuesday that its Aerospace Force's advanced new air defense system - under the control of the country's integrated air defense network - successfully destroyed an MQ-1 drone in the country's airspace, east of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the announcement came just hours after the IRGC Public Relations Department disclosed the downing of a similar US drone in the sky, west of the strategic waterway, using the same air defense system, early Tuesday morning. The report highlighted that Iran's integrated air defense system has destroyed four MQ-1 drones over the past several days in the country's airspace.

Hundreds of intruding drones - including Lucas, Hermes, MQ-1, and MQ-9 types - and other hostile aircraft have been downed by the Iranian air defense forces since the United States and the Israeli regime launched their war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
