Vienna: The spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Behrouz Kamalvandi, addressed the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with a firm declaration that military attacks, sabotage, and assassinations cannot dismantle Iran's well-established nuclear industry. He asserted that Iran is committed to maintaining its nuclear rights and will continue its peaceful nuclear activities.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kamalvandi emphasized Iran's steadfastness in the face of external pressures, highlighting that the country's nuclear knowledge and industry have been deeply embedded over decades. He criticized the IAEA's silence on attacks against Iran's nuclear facilities, suggesting that the lack of response from the international community, including the Agency's leadership, does not equate to neutrality, especially when international charters and non-proliferation agreements are at stake.

Kamalvandi also discussed Iran's compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and criticized the United States' withdrawal from the agreement. He detailed Iran's long history with nuclear science and technology, noting that despite enduring over 25 years of pressure and sanctions, Iran has consistently pursued peaceful nuclear activities and honored its commitments.

He pointed out that Iran continued to implement its JCPOA commitments unilaterally for 1.5 years after the US withdrawal, with 15 consecutive IAEA reports confirming Iran's compliance. Kamalvandi criticized the unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran, which were described by their proponents as 'crippling.' He also noted that negotiations resumed in 2022 after a change in the US administration, but progress was stalled by military aggression from Israel in June 2025 as discussions were set to continue at the IAEA.

Kamalvandi challenged the IAEA to reveal if any inspections of Iranian facilities had ever found evidence of nuclear material diversion, underscoring Iran's transparency and commitment to peaceful nuclear development.
