Gaza Death Toll Mounts to 72,599

Gaza: As the Zionist regime's aggression against the Gaza Strip continues, the total number of martyrs has reached 72,599.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, quoting the Gaza Ministry of Health, in the past 24 hours, five people were martyred and seven others were injured. Since the ceasefire was declared on October 11, 2025, 823 people have been martyred and 2,308 others injured. The bodies of 763 martyrs were recovered from under the rubble. The total number of martyrs in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,599, and the number of injured has reached 172,411.

This development comes as the attacks and bombings by the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip have caused widespread devastation and destruction, with preliminary international assessments estimating the cost of rebuilding this destruction at approximately $71.4 billion. Ahmed Abu Qamar, an economic researcher, stated that the reconstruction process in Gaza has entered a complex and lengthy phase, where the human and economic dimensions are intertwined on an unprecedented scale. He emphasized that this situation has made the reconstruction of Gaza one of the largest reconstruction projects in terms of scale and cost.

According to international estimates, the total cost of reconstruction over the next 10 years will reach $71.4 billion, of which $26.3 billion must be secured within the first 18 months. Referring to the extent of the damage, Abu Qamar announced that direct damage amounts to $35.2 billion and economic losses to $22.7 billion. Meanwhile, over 371,000 housing units in Gaza have been damaged, and the region's economy has contracted by 84%, indicating a widespread collapse in the cycle of production, employment, and investment.
