Tehran: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has dismissed as mere "big talk" Washington's threats of punishing countries that engage in any form of trade with the Islamic Republic, saying Iran's trade partners will not comply with US sanctions. In a post on his X account on Monday, Ghalibaf said trade partners have conveyed to Iran that they will completely disregard the US threats.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran's trade partners have communicated through media and direct messages that they consider US statements as insignificant. He stated in the Farsi-language post that these partners have indicated their intent to disregard the threats, highlighting their commitment to maintaining trade relations with Iran despite potential repercussions from the United States.

The Iranian Parliament speaker also commented on the impact of US economic strategies, noting that the United States economy has already suffered due to its aggressive posture towards Iran. He expressed doubt that the US could afford further disputes with other countries over Iran, pointing out that the global community is increasingly skeptical of US threats. Ghalibaf argued that the United States is not in an economic position to further isolate itself from international trade partners, implying that the US threats lack substance.
