Ghalibaf Warns Trump’s Lies Will Lead Him Nowhere

Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has dismissed recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, asserting that the American leader made multiple false claims and would fail to achieve results through lies, whether in conflict or negotiations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf highlighted in a series of posts on X that Trump made seven false claims in just one hour. He emphasized that these lies would not lead to success in war and certainly not in negotiations. Ghalibaf expressed concern about the strategic Strait of Hormuz, stating that continued blockade efforts would not leave the strait open. He insisted that transit through the waterway would occur based on a designated route and with Iran's permission, with the rules governing it being determined by on-the-ground realities rather than social media declarations.

In his message, Ghalibaf also pointed out that media warfare and the shaping of public opinion are key components of modern conflict, asserting that the Iranian nation remains unaffected by such manipulations. He urged audiences to seek out real and accurate news regarding negotiations, referencing a recent interview with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei. Baghaei had dismissed Trump's claims in a televised interview, stating that the idea of transferring Iran's enriched materials to the United States had never been considered. He further emphasized that decisions regarding the Strait of Hormuz are determined on the ground, underscoring that Iran is not susceptible to blockade.
