Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in a message, says that the world stands at the cusp of a new order. 'As President Xi said 'The transformation unseen in a century is accelerating across the globe,' and I emphasize that the Iranian nation's 70-day resistance has accelerated this transformation,' Ghalibaf wrote on his X account on Saturday. 'The future belongs to the Global South,' he added.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, since the start of the latest US-Israeli war against Iran, China has repeatedly called for de-escalation and a diplomatic resolution to the crisis. Beijing also condemned violations of Iran's sovereignty during the June 2025 Israeli attacks and expressed concern over disruptions to energy supplies and shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, developments that could increase pressure on the Chinese economy.

Against this backdrop, Trump's talks in Beijing were closely watched as China seeks both to prevent further escalation in West Asia and to safeguard its vital economic interests in the region. Analysts had said the meetings could also serve as a test of whether Washington and Beijing can manage their broader disputes while preventing the regional crisis from spiraling further out of control.
