Gaza city: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says the martyrdom of Al-Qassam Brigades commander during the ceasefire once again confirmed the Israeli regime's disloyalty.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in his message on the occasion of the martyrdom of Izz ad-Din al-Haddad, the commander of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Ghalibaf stated that the criminal hand of the Israeli regime was once again stained with the blood of a great warrior. He noted that during a ceasefire in Gaza, Al-Haddad, along with his wife and daughter, was martyred by the Israelis.

Ghalibaf highlighted that Al-Haddad dedicated his life to battling the occupiers, both on the battlefield and in the prisons of the Zionist regime, and sacrificed his two sons to the same cause. He expressed confidence that the divine promise remains steadfast and that the path of resistance will eventually lead the Palestinian people to determine their destiny.

Earlier on Saturday, Al-Qassam Brigades announced that al-Haddad was martyred in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City. They described the incident as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli sources reported that the regime's air force, utilizing drones and fighter jets, targeted and bombed the apartment where Al-Haddad was staying, while also striking a vehicle. The Israeli regime's army and Shin Bet had previously announced the death of al-Haddad, identifying him as the commander of Hamas's military wing and the last senior Hamas commander involved in the October 7, 2023, operation.
