Tehran: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi has rejected a claim by US President Donald Trump that the Strait of Hormuz is part of US territory, stating that Tehran will correct Trump's 'delusions.'
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi responded on X to an image reposted by Trump describing the Strait of Hormuz as a 'new part of US territory.' In his response, Gharibabadi emphasized that while Trump correctly identified the Persian Gulf by name, his assertion about the Strait of Hormuz being US territory was misguided.
Gharibabadi further remarked that Trump's delusion will either be corrected by Trump himself or by Tehran. His comments followed Trump's publication of the image portraying the strategic waterway as part of US territory, a move that has sparked controversy.
