Beirut: Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem has asserted that the Israeli regime, which he describes as being built on occupation, injustice, and crimes, will ultimately fall. He pledged that the resistance will continue to confront it until liberation is achieved.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sheikh Qassem made these remarks on Wednesday during a televised address marking the first anniversary of the “pager explosions” by the Israeli regime in Lebanon. These explosions resulted in over 40 deaths and injured thousands. In his address, Sheikh Qassem expressed prayers for those who were wounded, emphasizing their role as pioneers and symbols of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
The Hezbollah leader highlighted the resilience of the wounded, acknowledging their recovery as a significant victory. He stated that the wounded have faced trials and emerged triumphant, despite attempts by the enemy to weaken them. Sheikh Qassem encouraged the resistance fighters to continue following the path of Martyred Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, promising that their efforts would lead to the fall of Israel.
He urged the injured to remain steadfast in their commitment to the teachings of the Prophet of Islam, the guidance from Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the path of the martyrs. Sheikh Qassem concluded by extending his greetings to all those wounded in the struggle, affirming that victory is on their side.
The explosions, which took place on September 17 and 18, 2024, involved thousands of pagers and hundreds of walkie-talkies detonating simultaneously across Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later claimed responsibility for the operation.
