Tehran: Iran's Deputy President for Strategic Affairs, Mohammad Javad Zarif, has issued a video message to the global Jewish community, declaring Zionism as a fundamental violation of the Ten Commandments of Prophet Moses (PBUH). He accused the Zionist regime of exploiting the memory, name, blood, and lives of Holocaust victims from World War II, and described Zionism as an ideology rooted in racism, extreme nationalism, and racial discrimination, spreading hatred against other nations and religions. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zarif called upon Jewish communities worldwide to protect the Abrahamic faith from Zionist distortions, aggression, racial discrimination, and genocide. He emphasized Iran's historical commitment to peaceful coexistence and support for the oppressed, highlighting instances such as the liberation of Jews from Babylonian captivity over 2,600 years ago and sheltering Jews during World War II. Zarif also referenced the acceptance of Afghans fleeing foreign occupation and as sistance to Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians displaced by conflict. Zarif criticized Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's efforts to undermine the Iran nuclear deal, which he saw as a potential foundation for peace and regional cooperation. He accused Netanyahu and his allies of standing on the wrong side of history, contributing to regional instability through a campaign that has resulted in significant civilian casualties. In his address, Zarif described Zionism as an aggressive, expansionist secular movement that misuses Judaism to further a colonial and racist agenda. He claimed it poses a threat not only to other nations but also to the dignity and security of Jewish people worldwide, urging continued resistance against what he terms Zionist crimes and forgeries against the Jewish faith.
