Tehran: The spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated that the Israeli regime does not merit representation at international organizations. This statement came in response to a query from an IRNA correspondent about the presence of an Israeli delegation in Baku, Azerbaijan, for the COP29 summit. Esmail Baghaei emphasized that a regime which disregards the principles and objectives of the United Nations, and whose existence is an affront to the Palestinian nation, fundamentally lacks the qualifications for participation in international bodies. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baghaei, during his weekly press briefing in Tehran, highlighted the nuclear threats posed by the Tel Aviv regime against Iran. He noted that the UN special rapporteur on human rights has requested that nations collectively prevent the Zionist regime from being a UN member. He stated that this logic negates the necessity for the regime's presence in forums meant to address global issues and problems. Bagh aei welcomed other countries joining this campaign against Israel's participation. The spokesman further referenced United Nations Security Council Resolution 533, which prohibits threats or the use of force against Iran's nuclear facilities. He urged the UNSC to take decisive action, citing the legal obligation to intervene. Baghaei criticized the Zionist regime's law-breaking approach, asserting that the region is well aware of these actions. On Iran's diplomatic front, Baghaei addressed Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani's recent visit to Syria and Lebanon, which he described as a demonstration of Iran's commitment to supporting Syria and Lebanon against Israeli aggressions. He emphasized Iran's use of its full diplomatic capacities to advance its goals. Baghaei also touched on Iran's international relations, stating that the Islamic Republic seeks to develop ties with other nations while maintaining dignity, expediency, national security, and regional interests. He reiterated that communication be tween Iran and the United States continues through the Swiss Embassy, which represents US interests in Tehran. Discussing economic ties, Baghaei mentioned ongoing talks between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), highlighting a cooperation document that could significantly enhance bilateral relations if approved. He also addressed the issue of sanctions, asserting that Iran will respond appropriately to the European countries' claims regarding missile transfers to Russia, which have been denied by Ukrainian officials. Baghaei commented on Iran-US relations, critiquing the focus on individual US administrations and emphasizing the longstanding issues between the two nations. He pointed out the lack of goodwill from the US and the absence of efforts to rectify past mistakes. On security matters, Baghaei stated that Iran will respond appropriately to any threats from the Zionist regime, which he deemed contrary to international law. He noted that discussions with the International Atomic Energy Agenc y continue in a constructive manner. Addressing Western countries' treatment of pro-Palestine demonstrators, Baghaei criticized the suppression of protesters, arguing that it contradicts the human rights values promoted by the West. Concerning Iran's relations with China, Baghaei confirmed the strong and determined efforts by both Tehran and Beijing to deepen and expand cooperation. A roadmap for long-term collaboration is being actively pursued. This report is subject to updates as new information becomes available.
