Iran Advances Road Construction Projects Despite Economic Challenges

Mahvelat: Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, announced that road construction in Iran is advancing vigorously despite facing budget constraints and international sanctions.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sadegh made these remarks at the inauguration of several road projects in Mahvelat, located in the Razavi Khorasan Province. The inauguration marked the completion of 90 kilometers of new roads in the eastern and southern regions of the country. Sadegh stated that the 14th administration is committed to addressing the concerns of citizens, highlighting the dedication of both the government and Parliament to serve the public effectively.

She described the inauguration of these projects as indicative of a national perspective shared by Parliament representatives and the government’s determination to enhance infrastructure development. Sadegh emphasized that despite severe budget shortages, the scale of road construction underway is comparable to major national projects.

One of the key projects inaugurated was the second lane of the ‘Shadmehr-Kashmar Intersection,’ which spans 17 kilometers and required an investment of 550 billion tomans.
