Tehran:The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have reviewed opportunities to enhance their cooperation in the energy sector. Discussions focused on agreed areas within the framework of joint working groups.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad met with Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, to discuss the potential for expanding energy and economic collaboration. Paknejad emphasized that the groundwork for such cooperation is well-prepared, with energy cooperation being a primary focus during their talks.
Both countries have agreed that the issues raised in the meeting will be pursued by joint working groups to achieve tangible results. Their geographical proximity, access to regional energy markets, and Iran's extensive transmission network provide a solid foundation for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
