Tehran: Iran's newly appointed Ambassador to Belarus, Mohsen Omid-Zamani, has presented a copy of his credentials to Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, reaffirming the two countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. During the meeting in Minsk, the two sides discussed the latest developments and issues of mutual interest in political, economic, and trade relations, as well as cooperation within international and multilateral frameworks.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Omid-Zamanai and Ryzhenkov emphasized their countries' determination to maintain the positive and expanding trajectory of bilateral relations and highlighted the high level of mutual trust between Tehran and Minsk. The officials stressed the importance of maintaining and strengthening political contacts and consultations at the highest levels to advance bilateral relations. They also called for regular dialogue aimed at deepening ties, expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and making greater use of existing capacities and opportunities.

Iran and Belarus have expanded cooperation across several sectors in recent years. On August 20, 2025, the two countries signed 12 cooperation documents in the presence of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko. The agreements covered political and legal affairs, tourism, culture, media, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, industry, environmental protection, free and special economic zones, investment, aviation, and education.

Other areas included medical sciences, forestry, veterinary health, standardization, metrology, accreditation, cinema, and cooperation between national news agencies and broadcasters, reflecting the broadening scope of Tehran-Minsk relations.
