Tehran: A member of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has criticized US President Donald Trump for creating a complex situation that has placed Americans in a difficult position.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Abbas Golroo, in a recent interview, discussed the repercussions of the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran. He emphasized that even American experts acknowledge Trump is entangled in a difficult situation, characterized by a mix of secret communications, military actions, and economic sanctions against Iran.

Golroo explained that the dynamics between Iran and the United States, along with regional developments, are intricate. He described the US president's anti-Iran strategies as a 'double-edged sword' that could have adverse effects on Americans, especially considering rising fuel and diesel prices in the US. These economic challenges are increasing public discontent and could potentially harm the Republican Party's prospects in upcoming elections.

He further addressed the US's economic strategies against Iran, suggesting that Iran could mitigate these impacts by preventing sanctions from escalating into an oil-field blockade. Golroo highlighted Iran's strategic advantage in the region, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has successfully persuaded neighboring countries to adopt new regulations for vessel passage, which even the US has had to accept.

The parliamentarian stressed the need for Iran to leverage its current geopolitical successes into political and economic gains, ensuring that the economic blockade does not strengthen.

Golroo also condemned US actions in Sirik, comparing them to those of the Israeli regime, and accused the US of committing war crimes and attempting to evade accountability for its attacks on civilian areas, which contradicts their public statements.
