Havana: Cyber security, artificial intelligence (AI), and human resources training were among the most important issues discussed during Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Sattar Hashemi's second day of visit to Cuba. Hashemi said on Tuesday that the cruel sanctions imposed on Iran and Cuba by the United States had failed to prevent the two countries from making technological progress. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Hashemi highlighted a training program aimed at half a million individuals in Iran to master AI fields, emphasizing that AI and robotics will be critical areas for Iran-Cuba relations. He also expressed Iran's readiness to assist in training Cuban human resources in robotics and AI. The minister's visit coincided with the 40th edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV), occurring from November 4 to 9, 2024, at the EXPOCUBA fairgrounds in Havana. The exhibition anticipates participation from sixty countries and 800 companies from around the world.
