Iran and India to Sign Bilateral Cooperation Agreements: Foreign Ministry Spokesperson


New Delhi: Iran and India are poised to strengthen their bilateral relationship through the signing of several cooperation agreements. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has announced that these documents will focus on enhancing collaboration in the fields of economy, customs, and health.



According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is currently in New Delhi for an official visit aimed at reviewing the Iran-India bilateral relationship and consulting on regional and international developments. This visit marks an important moment as both countries look to bolster their longstanding ties.



During the visit, Foreign Minister Araqchi and his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, will co-chair the 20th Iran-India Joint Commission. The meeting will culminate in the signing of several bilateral agreements designed to enhance cooperation in key areas such as economy, customs, and health.



Baqaei emphasized the historical depth of the Iran-India friendship, noting that it provides a solid foundation for mutually beneficial relations. He expressed a commitment to working together to promote peace, security, and stability both regionally and beyond.



Araqchi, who arrived in India on Wednesday, is leading a delegation for high-level meetings with Indian officials. Both sides are expected to review and follow up on the latest progress in implementing economic agreements between their countries.
