TEHRAN: President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran has emphasized the importance of enhancing relations with Oman, underscoring the Islamic Republic's dedication to fostering peace and security within the region and among Islamic nations. The Iranian president's remarks were made during a meeting with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi in Tehran.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Pezeshkian praised the enduring friendship between Iran and Oman, highlighting the significance of further developing bilateral ties. He indicated that efforts are underway to accelerate the implementation of existing agreements and to negotiate new ones between the two countries. The president reiterated that Iran's foreign policy prioritizes strengthening relations with neighboring and Islamic countries, with Oman playing a pivotal role.
Pezeshkian also expressed concern over the actions of the Israeli regime, criticizing its aggressive stance in the region. He stated that discord among Muslim nations is undesirable and cautioned that such divisions allow the Zionist regime to exploit the situation to their detriment.
In response, Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi acknowledged the longstanding ties between the two nations and conveyed the Sultan of Oman's commitment to expanding relations with the Islamic Republic.
