Iran and Russia Connect Payment Systems to Strengthen Financial Relations.

Tehran: Iran and Russia have successfully integrated their banking networks, a move aimed at boosting financial ties between the two countries. The Russian 'Mir' banking network was connected to Iran's Shetab network during a ceremony attended by Mohammadreza Farzin, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran. This integration allows Iranian bank cards to be used in Russian banks, marking a significant step in the financial collaboration between the two nations. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, this development is part of broader efforts to enhance economic cooperation and reduce reliance on Western financial systems. The integration of payment systems is expected to facilitate smoother transactions and increase financial interactions between Iran and Russia, further solidifying their economic partnership. In addition to financial collaboration, Iran is also focusing on energy and transportation sectors. The Managing Director of Agajari Oil and Gas Production Company announced plans to supply 2.26 m illion cubic meters of gas per day from the Rag Sefid field within the next two months. This initiative aims to meet the country's winter fuel demands by adding a significant amount of gas to the Persian Gulf Gas Refinery. Moreover, Iran has reached an initial agreement with members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to manufacture 200 freight wagons. This agreement underscores Iran's commitment to enhancing its regional transportation infrastructure and fostering economic ties with neighboring countries.
