Hanoi:Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Thursday in Turkmenistan.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and the Caspian Sea environmental summit.

The discussions between the two leaders focused on reviewing achievements in bilateral relations and strengthening economic and strategic cooperation. Key sectors highlighted included energy, agriculture, transportation, and trade.

Both sides emphasized the importance of accelerating the finalization and completion of joint projects. There was also a shared determination to expand comprehensive cooperation to benefit national interests and regional stability.

President Pezeshkian attended the summits to address ongoing regional and environmental issues.
