Iran’s President Emphasizes Resilience Against Blockades

Ashgabat:President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted Iran's strategic position and resilience against blockades due to its borders with 15 nations, making it challenging for adversaries to isolate the country economically and politically.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian made these statements before departing for Turkmenistan to attend the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and an environmental forum on the Caspian Sea.

He expressed optimism that his visit to Ashgabat would strengthen Iran's relations with neighboring countries and help mitigate the effects of the US maritime blockade. The President underscored that with numerous neighboring nations, Iran cannot be easily encircled.

Pezeshkian also addressed the environmental threats facing the Caspian Sea, emphasizing the importance of the littoral states' summit in addressing potential problems that could affect surrounding nations.

He noted that the trip provides an opportunity to discuss multilateral relations, counter unilateralism, and explore cooperation in energy and other political, economic, social, and security matters.
