Tehran: Deputy Foreign Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mehdi Sobhani and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for Asian Affairs Andrey Rudenko have underlined their shared determination to expand bilateral ties. During the meeting on Friday, the two sides reviewed the latest situation of bilateral ties and major joint projects, including the Rasht-Astara railway, and emphasized the need to further develop these relations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the performance of the embassies of both countries and ways to resolve their problems were also discussed during the meeting. Earlier on Thursday, Sobhani had also met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for CIS Affairs Galuzin Mikhail Yuryevich and exchanged views on regional developments and bilateral cooperation.
