Tehran: The foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia engaged in a phone conversation on Monday, focusing on the enhancement of bilateral relations and addressing recent regional developments.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the conversation between Abbas Araghchi and Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud included discussions on mutual interests and the latest developments unfolding in the region. Both ministers emphasized the importance of ongoing diplomatic efforts to address regional issues.

The discussions between Iran and Saudi Arabia occurred as tensions escalated due to Washington's threats of renewed aggression against Iran, following US President Donald Trump's dismissal of Iran's proposal to end the ongoing war. In addition to the conversation with Saudi Arabia, Abbas Araghchi also communicated with his counterparts from France, Turkey, Qatar, and South Korea on May 17, highlighting Iran's active diplomatic engagements amid challenging geopolitical circumstances.
