Tehran: High-ranking officials from Iran and Switzerland have met to discuss the development of scientific cooperation. The meeting took place between Minister of Science, Research, and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Simaei-Sarraf, and a delegation from Switzerland led by State Secretary for Education, Research, and Innovation Martina Hirayama.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the discussions, both sides emphasized the need to define effective mechanisms for scientific and research cooperation between academic institutions of the two countries. The Swiss delegation highlighted the existing capacities within Switzerland’s Leading Houses as a key resource for collaboration.

Leading a high-ranking delegation, Simaei-Sarraf is on a visit to Japan to participate in the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum, which is held from October 5 to 7, 2025, in Kyoto. The meeting with Swiss officials underscores Iran’s commitment to expanding its international research partnerships.
