Dushanbe: The commercial attach© of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tajikistan has highlighted the shared economic interests of Tehran and Dushanbe, focusing on the potential for deepening economic relations between the two countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mohammad Ali Amirfakhrian, the Iranian commercial attach©, emphasized the need for expanded relations during a joint meeting with Tajikistan's First Deputy Minister of Agriculture. The meeting explored Tajikistan's agricultural sector capabilities and needs, while also assessing the strengths of Iranian companies. Amirfakhrian noted the focus was on transitioning from mere trade cooperation to joint production, technology transfer, and the implementation of investment projects.

The Iranian diplomat pointed out Tajikistan's increasing demand for machinery to enhance mechanized agriculture, livestock, and poultry, as well as greenhouses and agro-processing industries. He stated that Iranian companies have the capacity to supply the required equipment and transfer technical know-how in these sectors.

Amirfakhrian also identified the high capacity of Tajikistan in cotton production and primary processing, such as spinning, weaving, and garment manufacturing. He mentioned this as an excellent opportunity for Iranian investors and companies to establish a presence in the Central Asian nation.

Furthermore, Amirfakhrian stressed the importance of holding bilateral trade meetings and exchanging specialized trade delegations to establish direct links between the public and private sectors of both countries.
