Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has announced that members of the BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) are actively working to oppose the United States' unilateral policies and are seeking strategies to counteract their effects. During his routine press conference, Baqaei highlighted the collective efforts of these nations to demonstrate their resistance to the US's approach on the global stage.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei refuted claims that Iran could be isolated internationally. He emphasized that despite the possible reluctance of some countries to publicly support Iran due to their ties with Washington, Iran's self-defense and the global respect it has earned ensure it remains an integral part of the international community. Baqaei criticized the United States for its diminishing credibility, referencing a strategic miscalculation in its attack on Iran and alliance with what he described as a genocidal regime.

Baqaei further asserted that the international community, including regional players, acknowledges the detrimental impact of US actions on global norms that are vital for maintaining international peace and security. He accused the United States of manipulating the United Nations, politicizing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and breaching the United Nations Charter's prohibition against the use of force.

He underscored that countries within forums like the SCO and BRICS are not only voicing their opposition but also developing practical measures to address the fallout from US actions. Baqaei concluded by noting a shift in perspective among the US's traditional allies, including Canada and European nations, who are beginning to see the necessity of curtailing what he described as the US's aggressive and damaging unilateralism.
