Tehran: The Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) reiterated that Iran's armed forces maintain full command and control over the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking on the geopolitical importance of the region, Major General Mostafa Izadi emphasized that the vital waterway-upon which the global and US economies depend-is under the complete authority of Iranian forces.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Izadi highlighted the strategic focus on the southern region of the country, particularly the Strait of Hormuz. The commander asserted that the Strait of Hormuz constitutes part of the Islamic Republic of Iran's territorial waters and holds critical strategic significance.
