Tehran: The UK government, maintaining its hostile and unconstructive stance toward Iran, has issued new regulations to expand unilateral sanctions on the financial, commercial, and aviation sectors.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the updated measures extend trade restrictions against Iran and enhance authorities related to actions against vessels. They also further limit Iran's access to the UK financial system while extending trade bans to a broader range of goods, technologies, and services.

Furthermore, the regulations ban Iranian aircraft from landing in the UK, except in cases of specific exemptions.

In justifying the hostile move, London described it as part of a broader effort to curb Iran's nuclear program. UK Foreign Office Minister, Stephen Doughty, claimed in a statement that the regulations would help ensure Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.
