Tehran:Iran continues to advocate for peace and an end to conflicts, while maintaining its stance on defending its rights, security, and national interests, stated Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Talaei-Nik addressed students at a boys' technical school in Tehran, highlighting the role of popular participation, faith, national unity, and wise leadership in overcoming critical periods, such as the Iraqi Ba'ath regime's war on Iran. He cited the mobilization ordered by Imam Khomeini as a significant example of public involvement in national defense.
He discussed Iran's transition to self-reliance following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, noting that the country has become less dependent on foreign nations despite 48 years of sanctions and external pressures. Talaei-Nik mentioned that Iran now produces over 1,000 types of domestic products and services, some of which are exportable.
He credited these advancements to investments in human resources, knowledge, experience, and national determination, asserting that sanctions have not impeded Iran's scientific and technological development.
The spokesperson emphasized that national power encompasses more than military strength, extending to political, cultural, social, scientific, and technological domains. He encouraged students to enhance these capacities through education, skills training, scientific production, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Addressing recent conflicts, Talaei-Nik affirmed that Iran consistently promotes peace while defending its rights and protecting national interests. He suggested that recognizing Iran's conditions and legitimate rights could pave the way for resolving conflicts.
