Tehran:According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani emphasized the importance of Iran's maritime power in ensuring national interests, regional security, and the safety of shipping routes.

In his message for World Maritime Day, Irani highlighted the sea's crucial role in connecting nations and facilitating global trade. He acknowledged seafarers for their contribution to maintaining this essential link through their knowledge and dedication.

Irani clarified that Iran's naval capabilities are aimed at maintaining stability and security rather than posing a threat. He emphasized the role of the Iranian Navy, in collaboration with other armed forces, in safeguarding maritime interests and deterring regional adventurism.

World Maritime Day, observed annually on September 24, underscores the significance of seafarers and the maritime industry worldwide.
