Geneva: Iran has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the E3 nations-Britain, France, and Germany-to prioritize diplomatic efforts, according to Deputy Foreign Minister of Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi. He emphasized the importance of allowing diplomacy the necessary time and space to resolve ongoing issues.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi shared on his X account that he, along with Iran’s representative at the UN, Mr. @TakhtRavanchi, engaged in discussions with political directors from the three European countries and the EU in Geneva. During the meeting, both parties presented their perspectives on resolution 2231, highlighting their commitment to finding a diplomatic and mutually beneficial solution.
Gharibabadi reiterated Iran’s dedication to diplomatic engagement and urged the E3 and UNSC to consider diplomacy as a viable path forward. His comments follow recent talks between Iranian and European diplomats, which occurred shortly after a 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran. The Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that it is crucial for the international community to make informed decisions that support diplomatic resolutions.
