New york: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has called on the United Nations Security Council (U.N.S.C.) to hold the Israeli regime and the United States accountable for their recent war of aggression against Iran, and to take measures to prevent the recurrence of such grave violations in order to uphold international peace and security.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in identical letters addressed to U.N. Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres and the President of the Security Council, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, on Saturday, Araqchi underscored deliberate acts of aggression by the Israeli regime and the United States against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The top diplomat emphasized that the unprovoked attacks on Iran’s civilian areas and peaceful nuclear facilities constituted violations of multiple core principles of international law, including the U.N. Charter, the Non-Proliferation Treaty (N.P.T.), and various documents and resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.).
Araqchi further urged the Security Council to formally recognize the Israeli regime and the United States as the initiators of the act of aggression and to hold them responsible, including through the provision of compensation and reparations.
