Tehran: Iran's national beach handball team has recorded a 2-0 victory over the United States in a friendly match ahead of the 2026 World Championship. Iran faced the United States on Sunday as part of its preparation program for the 2026 World Championship and secured a straight-sets win.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the two sides, who are drawn in the same group at the upcoming world event, used the contest as an opportunity to assess each other ahead of the main tournament. Iran dominated the first set, winning 20-10 with complete control. The second set proved tighter, but the Iranians managed the game effectively to seal a 20-18 win and complete the straight-sets victory.

The squad had also played three other friendly matches over the past two days, defeating Oman and Australia 2-0 and losing 2-1 to Croatia, the world champion. Iran will begin its camp at the 2026 World Championship on June 23 and is grouped with Spain, Portugal, and the United States.
