Iran Condemns Israel for Alleged War Crimes and Genocide

New York:Iran's representative to the Sixth Committee of the UN General Assembly has accused Israel of committing genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and terrorist acts against the peoples of Iran and Palestine.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian representative criticized the US-Israeli actions and dismissed the allegations made by the Israeli representative. He claimed that Israel has been attempting to deflect attention from its actions against Palestinians and other countries in the region since 2023 by making unfounded accusations.

The Iranian representative expressed concern over the international community's inaction, which he believes has allowed Israeli crimes to increase annually. He highlighted that from October 7, 2023, to October 7, 2026, an average of 70 to 75 people have been killed daily by Israel, with more than 75,000 Palestinians and thousands in Iran and other regional countries affected.

He further emphasized the severity of the situation by mentioning that an average of 28 children are killed daily in Gaza, equating this to losing a classroom every day. He also cited an attack on an Iranian family where 16 members were killed because one was a university professor, describing Israel as a significant threat to global peace and security.

Additionally, the Iranian representative rejected US claims of civilian protection, referencing a February 28 attack on a primary school in Minab, southern Iran, where 168 children and teachers were killed. He urged for accountability under international law for those responsible for such attacks.
