Iran’s Nuclear Health Industry Thrives Despite Sanctions

Hanoi:Speaking at the inauguration of Iran's first university-based center for diagnosing and treating childhood cancer, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), emphasized that sanctions, threats, and attacks have not hindered the country's nuclear industry's progress in the health sector. He highlighted the AEOI's strategic focus on health and food security for national development.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Eslami expressed pride in Iran's continued advancement despite external pressures and false allegations. He stated that the country's scientists have successfully maintained progress in scientific frontiers.

Eslami detailed Iran's achievements in expanding its radiopharmaceutical portfolio, with 78 products currently produced and supplied through contracts with the Food and Drug Administration. Additionally, over 20 products are in the research phase, expected to join the portfolio following clinical approval and Health Ministry requirements.

He further noted Iran's pioneering role in introducing alpha-emitting radiopharmaceuticals, claiming competitive standing with the United States in this field despite ongoing threats.
