Tehran:The Foreign Ministry has condemned the US government's actions aimed at disrupting Iran's trade relations and air transport with other countries. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Thursday denouncing the US government's illegal and inhumane maneuvers. These actions, characterized as the extraterritorial enforcement of unlawful US sanctions, are seen as violations of fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law, particularly the principle of respect for national sovereignty, as well as basic human rights norms. The statement highlighted the deep historical, religious, cultural, and people-to-people ties between Iran and Iraq, emphasizing the importance of maintaining fraternal relations and good-neighborliness. The Ministry considers the restrictions on civil aviation traffic between Iran and Iraq to be against the shared interests of both countries. The Foreign Ministry also called for appropriate decisions to counter t he US's economic actions, which it labeled as economic terrorism and incitement, urging for the lifting of restrictions on air transport.
