Islamabad: The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan has extended his congratulations to the nation of Pakistan on the occasion of its 79th Independence Day anniversary, highlighting a new phase in Tehran-Islamabad relations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam on Friday conveyed his best wishes to the government and the people of Pakistan as they celebrate their country's independence, traditionally observed every year on August 14.

The ambassador emphasized that, on this significant day, Iran honors the values upheld by the Pakistani nation, recognizing it as a moment of pride that celebrates the extraordinary resilience, unity, and accomplishments of Pakistan's citizens.

Notably, Iran holds the distinction of being the first country to acknowledge Pakistan's independence 79 years ago, and in reciprocation, Pakistan was the first to recognize Iran's Islamic Revolution and the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979.
