Tehran: President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Pakistan on the 79th anniversary of its independence, noting that the shared interests of the Iranian and Pakistani nations have become inextricably interwoven, a reality that underscores the need for greater synergy and closer cooperation. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian, in a Friday message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, congratulated Pakistan on the 79th anniversary of its independence, describing the occasion as a valuable opportunity to honor the achievements of the Pakistani nation. He stressed that a new turning point has begun in deepening and expanding the longstanding and strategic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan. The deep historical, cultural, and civilizational ties between the two nations constitute an important asset for shaping brighter prospects in bilateral relations, he added. President also reaffirmed Iran's firm resolve to further strengthen comprehensive relations with Pakistan and expressed readiness to take more effective steps to advance bilateral ties and secure the common interests of both sides.
