Kazan: Iran's Consulate General in Kazan announced the release of two Iranian students while explaining its measures to support the country's citizens. "We inform all dear compatriots, especially students and Iranians living in Kazan; on Friday morning, a number of students studying at Kazan Federal University from different countries, including Uzbekistan, China, Iran, Turkmenistan, etc., were visiting the 'Visa Extension Center' of the said university to renew their student visas," the Iranian Consulate General in Kazan said in a communique. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the incident occurred following an argument among students at the Visa Extension Center, which escalated when security personnel activated the alarm system, prompting a police response. The presence of police and the insistence of the Iranian students reportedly led to continued arguments, culminating in what was described as an inhumane and unprofessional physical confrontation by the police, resulting in the arrest of two Ir anian students. The Consulate General of Iran emphasized that as a result of the actions taken, both Iranian students were released and returned to their dormitories. The students are expected to appear in court on Saturday for further proceedings. The Consulate reassured Iranian citizens in Kazan that efforts would continue to ensure that those responsible for the incident are held accountable.
